Hire a Private Security Guard in Bristol

In response to the ever-present threat of terrorism, security has become a growing profession, especially private security. According to the Department of Labour Statistics, the occupation has expanded by 14 percent after the London Bombings in 2005. Demand for security guards is expected to continue to grow faster than other professions over the next five years.

Why the increase? While it is true that the UK has been relatively quiet since 7/7 and the authorities are doing a bang up job smoking out terror suspects, the threat remains very real. In fact, one of the first things businesses do whenever they plan a grand event is to contact private firms and hire a security guard in Bristol.

Since most companies do not employ a security staff of their own, special event guards are hired for one night only. What do they do? Many experienced security guards are retired police officers with years of experience dealing with large crowds. They may have policed the transport network, airports, or even on the streets, which means they know how to spot a suspicious character. (more...)

Make Accommodation Reservations Online

Remember when you had to traipse down to your local travel agent to make flight and accommodation reservations? Well, those days have gone.

Travel agents are becoming redundant. Now you can search for the best deals online and make your own bookings for transport, hotels, hire cars and tours. You can even design your own package tours online.

Thomas Cook never dreamed it would come to this, but maybe he would have liked it. More people than ever before now travel the world, not least because the internet has made travel information so accessible. (more...)

Why People Never Tire of Travelling to Rome

For as long as Western history, people have made an effort to Travel to Rome at least once in their lifetime. In the earliest days it was because Rome was the capital of the Roman Empire. Although the empire eventually fell, Rome never lost its cachet.

Eventually Rome became part of the Holy Roman Empire and finally it became associated with the Renaissance - the great romantic age. Certainly it is probably one of the most-visited cities in Europe, and still attracts hundreds of thousands of travellers from all across the world.

There are certain great attractions of Rome that never pall. These include the Coliseum and the Spanish Steps. Many Roman Catholics travel to Rome to visit the Vatican City. This is theoretically an independent state, as small as it is, yet it is integral to Rome as it is bound by the city on all sides. (more...)

Find Affordable Accommodation in Sydney

Yes, you can find bargain basement accommodation in Sydney. No, you don't have to sleep on the beach or in some backpacker's lodge to get it. There are some decent, clean, cheap Sydney hotels in the suburbs of the city that will suit the flattest of pockets.

The best tip any traveller to anywhere can get is to look for reviews on the internet. If you find an advert online, or even a website, for a certain hotel, you should immediately look for reviews from others who have stayed at the hotel.

The best hotels allow reviews on their own websites, but there are many independent places on the internet where people leave reviews. Just type in a term such as cheap hotels in Sydney reviews and you will be taken to the relevant place. (more...)

Temporary Jobs in Bristol for Travellers

There are lots of jobs in Bristol available to temporary workers or travellers who want to finance the next leg of their trip. Of course, you need the proper paperwork to undertake any type of formal job in the UK, but never overlook the possibility of getting a very temporary job, such as for a few days, that does not fall into the category of formal work.

Understandably, Bristol employment agencies tend to specialise on settled and permanent residents of the UK as a source of personnel. You should use your innovative intelligence when looking for a temp job in Bristol. Go to restaurants, bars, pubs, hotels, or in fact any place that deals with tourists and ask as many people as you can where you can find work.

Do not be fussy about what you are offered. Sweeping streets, wiping counters, walking dogs, baby-sitting cats, feeding chickens and taking surveys are just some of the part time jobs on offer. Or you can just play your guitar at the station or outside a pub, or do handstands in the park. You are bound to pick up a couple of pounds that way. (more...)

A Spanish Villa for Every Taste and Pocket

Remember when only Hollywood stars and the super-rich could afford to stay in a Spanish villa? You probably don't because that was very long ago. Today there is a villa for everyone in Spain, from the most palatial piles on the Costa del Sol to the tiniest of cottages in the mountains.

If you are working on a shoestring budget then you will probably be looking for Cheap villas in Spain that are modest in terms of location and size. You will probably also insist that your holiday villa has all the facilities you require and sufficient space to accommodate your travel party.

The good news is that if you are prepared to stay in a villa that is a bit off the beaten track and certainly not in one of the top locations, you can get an inexpensive cottage, apartment or house in rural Spain. (more...)

Finding Umbrian Villa Accommodation

Holiday villas in Umbria are easy to find, but finding the perfect one for you, your family and your friends might be a bit of a challenge. But there is a solution, and that is to browse the internet until you find exactly what you want.

The internet is a strange place. Just when you think you have exhausted all the options, you find another fabulous website that has mouth-watering information about travel in Italy and photos of some of the most stunning villas you can imagine.

Umbria has not always been a favourite travel destination. Tuscany and Rome have always led the popularity stakes in Italy. However, travellers have become more discerning, especially as they have become acquainted with all the different types of Italian cuisine in the various regions. They have realised that Umbria has tastes and atmosphere all its own. (more...)

Internet Changes the Face of Travel

If you have been inspired by TV reality shows such as The Amazing Race or Survivor, and you have decided to take an exotic holiday, then it's easy to research your options and make reservations – on the internet.

Say for instance you decide that adventure holidays in Lapland are what you are after. A simple Google search will return more information about Lapland travel than you could ever possibly require. You will find mountains of information about flights, geography, language, currency, travelling within the country, accommodation, interesting places to visit and specific adventure activities.

Firms specialising in extreme sports and alternative travel in Lapland all have marvellous websites. It's all there on the internet, and the people you need to contact are a mouse click or an email away. There are also Lap government information websites that will tell you about the culture, language and history of Lapland. (more...)

Every Conceivable Type of Furnished Accommodation in Sydney

Sydney worked out long ago that it was a city popular with visitors and that many of them wanted to stay in Sydney for extended periods, at much the same price as it cost to live at home. That is why there has been an explosion in the supply of top class rental accommodation in the city and surrounding areas.

The most desirable and popular form of furnished accommodation is a compact little apartment that sleeps between two and four people. For the person who seeks executive accommodation Sydney this is perfectly adequate.

Families and groups of friends often opt to share furnished accommodation in Sydney when they travel to the city from elsewhere in Australia or overseas. This is a great cost cutter idea, and it is also a lot of fun. For these visitors there are large furnished apartments, furnished cottages and even luxurious villas and gorgeous penthouses available for hire. (more...)

Why Spanish Holidays are Perennially Popular

Travelling to Spain for the holidays has become something of a cliché and yet holidaymakers just carry on choosing Spain for short city breaks and extended rural or seaside stays. Why?

Of course, there is the sun factor, which is a huge draw, but there are other reasons why many visitors travel religiously to Spain year after year. Lazing on beaches on the Costa del Sol is something that most people dream of doing when they are shut in offices in dreary winter weather. There is a feeling of foreignness and freedom that attracts many. A slower pace of life applies in the Mediterranean countries, including restful siestas in the afternoon and endless sitting at café tables watching the passing parade. There are festivals and religious celebrations which give it a different, Latin air. The healthy cuisine, great wine and fine olive oil are also much appreciated by visitors.

Cost is another reason why people love Spain. With exception of some tourist trap areas, it is affordable to stay for extended periods in Spain. Indeed this is why so many people have chosen to invest in property in Spain, rather than rent a villa or get hotel accommodation. (more...)

A Watchful Eye Pays Dividends

Get your liquid gold at the ready, get your readies. The only global currency in this world is a smile, despite the move by many Governments to make money safer by having all transactions take place electronically, cash is still king.

What todays currency rates will tell you is that values change, what the lay-person needs to know is how to get his/her hands on it right now, when you need it, and at top dollar. Saving for a lifetime only to see the value of your holdings decimated through the activities of speculators can turn that satisfactory grin into a perverse demand curve.

Change your money, stay safe, and get that grin pushing up dimples. If your exchange is for practical use then keep a watchful eye on the trend. The Residents of the Republic of Ireland beat a path to the North of the Country in 2009, taking advantage of a British Central Bank forcing down the value of the British Pound in line with the sliding dollar. Paint a Trail in Style

This land harbours 10,000 years of civilisation, you have just two weeks to take it all in, and there is no time to waste. Taxis are great but with Cyprus taxis offering a trans-urban service catering for up to seven passengers, each with different destinations, you know that this is not the direct route to your goal.

Put your pedal to the metal, and get in gear for your freest holiday to date, every moment counts and you are the pilot. Take on Prime Cyprus Car Hire and whilst exploring the worship abodes of Armenians, Muslims, and Maronites on the island you can set about worshipping your car.

Get romantic with the Aphrodite route, wind your way through the wine region, and paint a trail through the Byzantine Art Circuit. Take on the hot sun with a quickening breeze in your face, open roofed and lapping up the ocean waves in comfort and style. (more...)

Choosing your Ideal Holiday Destination

We all look forward to our hard-earned annual holidays. For most lucky people travelling abroad is the only option in order to guarantee some sun, even in the summer months. These sun seekers need only travel for a few hours on a plane to such Mediterranean countries as Spain, Greece and Italy in order to enjoy their week or two week holiday in the sun.

For many travellers, lying day after day in the sun is not enough to fulfil their holiday dream. Most people will also be looking to soak up some of the culture and history to be found in these foreign climes.

If you chose to stay in one of the many holiday apartments in Rome you will find yourself in the ideal spot to soak up the wealth of cultural and historical sites in this world famous city. (more...)

How to Choose International Vacations

Fancy an elaborate holiday this winter? Sandy, sun soaked beaches, palm lined boulevards, duty free shopping malls, or lush green tropical forests, which scenarios can you picture yourself in?

If you like travelling and have an unlimited budget, the world is your oyster. Most of us, however, have some sort of budget chalked out for the trip, and we usually like to work within it. The first step to working out your destination is to work out the maximum amount you are prepared to spend on the holiday.

Now that you know your monetary limits, it is time to explore what your options are. This you could do by looking at some holiday guides like holidays 2012 or anything that sounds like it would give an outline of popular destinations. Most touristy destinations have an 'image', and you can grasp the flavour of the place by understanding its image. (more...)

Travel in the 21st Century

There was a time when travellers were people who explored uncharted territories and made logs of their experiences. Today, we use this kind of archival material to draw inferences about places and societies of the past. The world has become a small and densely connected place, and travel is accessible to a large chunk of the population.

People travel for all kinds of reasons including work. Many people travel on work and relocate in different places. With affordable overseas property for sale, many people relocate to enjoy a different lifestyle in their retirement.

What would have been an exotic experience once is now commonplace. That is not to say that no travel experiences can be exotic today, but that any kind of international travel was once considered to be an adventure! (more...)

Goa Houses For Sale Offer Surprise

Goa is famous across the world as a major party destination. But there is much more to this little jewel on the western coast of India than just the party scene. Travellers from all over the world fall in love with it, some for its environmental richness and beauty, some for the laid back life, some for the delicious food and some for its friendly and warm people.

My sister was investigating houses for sale and property prices on the third day she was there. She now has a little holiday cottage near Palolim, a pristine village in the south of Goa. Twice every year during the turtle nesting season, she heads to Goa for a holiday and to volunteer with the local environmental group. Sounds like fun doesn't it?

The best season to travel to Goa would be November through to March. The monsoons are pretty hardcore, and often it becomes difficult to achieve much due to continuous heavy rain. Summers can be quite intense too, considering it is a tropical coastal state. (more...)

Take a Holiday in an English Cottage

When we hear the word cottage we typically think of a small, modest home in a rural setting. In fact, that is the accepted usage of the word. Its etymology has been traced back to the word cotter, which was used during the Middle Ages. A cotter was really nothing more than a peasant or a serf and a cottage was his home.

Though the term is sometimes used to refer to a summer home, particularly in North America, many residents in the UK know exactly what English Country Cottages are because they have stayed in one. No, they rarely own them. The cottage is no longer a popular style of home, except for holiday rentals.

For whatever reason, perhaps tradition or simple nostalgia, many UK residents prefer to stay in a cottage when they take a trip to the English countryside. Rental agencies throughout the nation rent cottages out just as they would holiday rentals, on a nightly or weekly basis. (more...)

The Spirit of The Stag

Decades have past, young boys have grown into men together, still young enough to enjoy the experience of ultimate freedom. The moment of being handed the keys to your first apartment was a momentous step in manhood, a break from ties and a key point in establishing your own control in your style of living.

Selecting a central location, selecting a size or sizes for a weekend base for the boys is a worthwhile task. Think of privacy away from elements of control like hawkeyed hotel managers eager to end your debauchery.

Once a base is secured there are no limitations to the spirit of the stag weekends. A vibe of reckless wanton abandon to the day jobs you may have to return to on its completion. Abandoning the ill feelings held by some members of the group towards each other. Along with saying goodbye, this is a time to strip inhibitions to the bone, a two/three day frenzy of friendship. There is something about Amsterdam that makes everyone feel welcome and comfortable. It is a uniquely tolerant, laid back and friendly place, and these qualities never fail to shine through.

However, there is so much more to this vibrant city than just that. Amsterdam can be an excellent destination for the young and the old, individuals and families alike.

Being an important tourist destination, the city is equipped with plenty of options for accommodation. You can find Cheap beds in Amsterdam for small or large groups, and you can also find uber luxurious and expensive hotels and resorts. (more...)

There are numerous places of archaeological interest around the county. Due to its unique location and formation, it is possible to see rocks from the prehistoric age through to recent rock formations on the coastline of Dorset.

Ideas For Planning a Stag Weekend

Over the last twenty years or so, the traditional stag night, has been replaced by a stag weekend. A time when the groom, best man and all his friends can escape for the weekend, and indulge themselves away from watchful eyes! If you are the best man and have been put in charge of sorting out the weekend, then it pays to plan ahead and book things early!

Its best to travel away from the area that you live (it stops those rumours getting back!), and so why not travel to Bristol? There are some great times to be had on Bristol Stag Weekends.

Hotels in London

We spent ages looking for a hotel in London this evening. I am the sort of person that is quite fussy over the sort of hotel I visit. I like to find the best deal, read around and do my research. But I’m also quite impatient.

I look for sites that include reviews so looked for a comparison type. The first good site I found was Expedia.co.uk, a travel agent for the best Hotels in London.

Hotels that stood out were me were the Radisson Edwardian New Province Wharf, Royal Horseguards and Park Plaza Riverbank. When I checked there were 935 hotels, a huge selection to choose from. (more...)

Choosing a Hotel: What are the Criteria?

Hotels are blossoming all over the world. With strings of them looping across Europe, Asia and the Americas, groves of luxury resorts burgeoning in scenic parts of the developing world, and glamorous old favourites still going strong in the world's iconic global cities, travellers in search of vacation accommodation have certainly got their work cut out for them.

There are, of course, volumes of internet material offering the holiday-maker reams of advice. Blogs, message boards and online comparison generators, all dedicated to temporary accommodation, abound in cyber space. As a prospective vacationer, it is a good idea to browse through the more relevant pieces of this informal canon, and to check out reviews written by former guests with no interest vested in marketing the institution at hand.

While most reviews will point out that the process of choosing a hotel is difficult chiefly because every traveller has a different set of criteria that need to be satisfied, there are a few simple demands which are universal. At the very least, a hotel should clean, comfortable and safe, and, in addition, staff should be helpful, presentable and polite. If any of these basic requirements is not met, then the hotel under consideration needs to be disregarded immediately. (more...)

Travel Tips For Sea Travel

Cruise holidays are very popular nowadays, but going vacationing on a cruise is still not as mainstream as a regular holiday. With so many cruise deals available, more and more people are now opting for this new and exciting choice of vacation. So how is a cruise different from a regular holiday, in terms of what you carry with you?

It is a myth that the atmosphere on a cruise is always formal. You are likely to need formal attire only for evening entertainment, so pack a few semi-formal items and that should do the trick. Of course, the level of formality depends on the cruise itself, but most cruises usually don't have strict black tie events.

A cruise can have a number of activities on board. This includes golf, swimming and other sporting activities. Make sure what your cruise offers and pack accordingly, so that you don't find yourself underequipped or carrying useless garments! (more...)

Budget Vacationing

Whether you are visiting Paris, Prague or Rome accommodation on a budget is a difficult thing to manage with success. There are, however, a few simple guidelines you can follow in order to maximise both cost efficiency and enjoyment.

To begin with, you will want to find the best flights you can for the least amount of money. In order to do this, it is important that you plan your trip well in advance. The earlier you book your tickets, the cheaper they will be.

Instead of opting for an hotel, which can be very expensive, take a look at self-catering apartments and villas available for rent in the area. These are invariably cheaper and better value for money, and allow you the freedom to plan your own holiday rules that an hotel does not afford. (more...)

Always a Reason to Visit London

London is never too far. If there is a must-see spot in the entire world, it is this remarkable city. The city boasts beautiful hotels that are reason enough alone to visit, but travellers will want to venture out for unforgettable attractions, events, and to enjoy the history of this city.

London hotels and travel within the city are easily arranged. Websites are especially helpful in finding rentals and hotels in areas that host popular events or sites.

The Dorchester Hotel, which was built in 1931, is a prime example. This hotel is located on Park Lane in Mayfair, and overlooks Hyde Park. The comfort and luxury of The Dorchester is legendary and so are some of its guests. General Dwight D. Eisenhower, T.S. Eliot, and Harold Nicolson all spent time in this magnificent hotel. Naturally, The Dorchester Hotel was completely updated during a major refit in the 1980's. Recent names on the guest list include Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, and Tom Cruise. (more...)

A Floating Paradise

Having a holiday off from and away from home is a pleasant daydream most of us engage in from time to time. As the season grows closer reality creeps in, and concerns take over. Finding a room, checking in to transportation, worrying over travel issues like connecting flights can all make the idea of vacation start to sound more like work. One easy answer to the entire puzzle of deciding where to go is to book a cruise.

Looking for cruise deals is not hard. A travel agent usually has an itinerary of fun cruises, and a list of good prices for several lines. Another easy method is to check websites for cruises. Some sites allow for comparing prices, available dates, and special features. All you have to do is type in your favorite travel locations and choose a date to see who has the perfect vacation already planned for you.

Some sites will even send you alerts when specials are available for your chosen dates and travel destination. Both an agent and a website can show you the different packages, but the advantage with a site is you can instantly see changes in pricing, or special deals. (more...)

Travel Recommendations for March Madness 2011

One of the most exciting events for any sports fan is March Madness, the annual event where the best teams in college basketball duke it out over a 3-week span in a 68-team tournament to decide the national champion.

What can be difficult, however, is deciding which games to go to and how you want to get there. Numerous sites across the nation host tournament games, and you have to plan ahead to make sure you can get tickets and accommodations.

The first step in the planning process is to get a complete march madness 2011 schedule that includes the important dates, tournament sites, and ticket info for this year's NCAA Tournament. Once you have the schedule, you can find out where the games are and when they are being played, and then make your accommodations accordingly. (more...)

How Many People Have a Job?

We have all heard about the global economy suffering this last two years, but it is only when we are affected at a more personal level, that we realise just how serious it is. For those people lucky enough to still have their jobs and homes, little has changed, apart from the inevitable rise in commodity prices, but for those unemployed, the picture is a lot different.

The first thing that people notice, is just how little the benefits on offer amount to. It seems that the newspapers are always mentioning benefits cheats, and yet when it comes to actually applying for them themselves, it really is not a lot of money!

The other thing that people notice is just how many people are applying for the jobs that are advertised either through the newspaper or in the job centre. There may now be hundreds of people applying for each of the Bristol jobs on offer, for example. In addition, the people applying for these positions are from a wide range of backgrounds. (more...)

Travelling to Oxford

Unless you are looking specifically for luxury travel to Oxford, the chances are fairly good that you will be keen to minimise your costs. While it is possible to spend a fortune and arrive at the university city in unparalleled style, for most student travellers, this is not really an option.

Regardless of whether you are planning to take a train or to fly to your destination, you should absolutely take care to investigate all of your options before deciding on a ticket to purchase. Without sufficient research, you will invariably find that your seat could have been secured more cheaply through other means.

The quickest, easiest way to compare the cost of travel to Oxford is simply to log on to a reputable travel website - choose one with a comparison generating feature – and to type in the details of the kind of trip you are looking to take. (more...)
